As a PhD editor, I completely agree with the need to edit from hard copy - this step CANNOT be stressed enough. Even with a Software Engineering degree, I NEVER edit important submissions electronically. Quite apart from the increased risk of oversight, it's simply too risky in a Web 2.0 world - even locally-installed applications such as Word have many, many backdoors installed by less-than-scrupulous programmers. Certainly sound advice for e-book authors to heed. Thanks for posting.
